The Emissaries are made up of a group of active members of the New York City jazz community who have performed together for the past twelve years in a wide variety of settings.
Their repertoire includes classic jazz standards, latin, and r&b numbers, played with a maximum of energy, spirit and enjoyment.
Their influences are too many to list, but some of them include Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, Frank Sinatra, Otis Redding, Curtis Mayfield, and James Brown.
They have appeared at venues such as The Knitting Factory, Internet Cafe, Bradley's, Tramps, Small's, the Blue Note, The Village Vanguard, and CBGB, as well as in various festivals throughout the tri-state area (NY,NJ,CT) and the world.
They can be booked in any common instrumentation, from duet to big band, for any type of event.
